  • Dr. Maria Montessori:

"There are many who hold, as I do, that the most important period of life is not the age of university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to the age of six. For that is the time when man's intelligence itself, his greatest implement is being formed, not only his intelligence - the full totality of this psychic powers".

Welcome to Manotick Montessori

Manotick Montessori is proudly owned and operated by BrightPath Early Learning & Child Care. We are located in Manotick, and provide a true Montessori experience for the surrounding areas. We care for children between the ages of 18 months – 6 years, and house before and after school care to children. Body movement is taught in our Dance Studio through Yoga, Music, Drama and Dance classes. Our centre includes 15 acres of outdoor space featuring a rope climber, sandboxes, basketball courts and more, all looking out onto a pond, hills and nature trails. We encourage our children to participate in our Early Readers program where they work in small groups to read, and our Junior Mathletes program. We pride ourselves on our ability to guide children in their own learning experience through the use of natural materials and the Montessori philosophy.

At Manotick Montessori, we assist the children through the adventure of learning independently and provide assistance only when needed. “Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed” – Maria Montessori. When starting in our Toddler program we will provide the children with simple self-help skills such as self-soothing, independent feeding, fine and gross motor all while ensuring they receive love and affection from their care providers. We encourage and help them learn the work cycle, and how to complete a task. We also introduce the concept of shapes, sizes, colours and continue to help them learn independently. While in our CASA program our children begin the process of writing, reading and self-expression. We provide them with the same 5 areas of the classroom you will see in our toddler program; math, language, cultural, sensorial and practical life with an open-ended art shelf available during the day.
